        Best Answer: If you want macro, and you want portrait, get the 60mm f2.8 AF-S Micro Nikkor. The 40mm AF-S DX Micro is too short to be a good portrait lens. If you can put aside the macro for now, add a 55-200mm VR to your 18-55mm kit lens. That will be an
