  Google "ndiswrapper" and download it. It is a application which is able to help pick up Windows driver and translate for Ubuntu use. I start U100+ from Ubuntu 8.10 and has same problem with Wifi too, now its ok. I have already move to Ubuntu 9.04 from 8.1
